The Zen of being a nag
My goal was to create 5 new runners. Not me creating them but to nag them into creating themselves. I picked 10 people, far from the people you would picture as runners. I nagged and challenged and insulted and manipulated until they all agreed to run a 5K with me. For months I harassed, nagged some more and manipulated them through training, running, changing eating habits, etc. On Saturday it happened. Not 5 but all ten showed up and ran. Many had lost weight. One quit smoking. Another one improved his diabetes scores. They then ran and ran hard. We did not win the race but we all won. 10 winners and one nagging jerk crossed the finish line.
