Where is the passion?

I have noticed over past few years that people are losing their passion for ...well anything. Many young people speak in a way that reminds me of someone who is being prepped for surgery. They are slack jawed and medicated. The passion and energy associated with youth is gone. People don't seem to get too angry or happy anymore. I do these product reviews because I am passionate about new products and excited when a new sample comes in the mail. I am deeply in love with my wife of 27 years. I get really intense when I read the news, sometimes angry. I feel deeply, love, patriotism, anger, joy, sorrow. Our youth seem to shrug at everything, as they stagger sleepily through their day. Perhaps the nosey neighbor in the movie "Its a wonderful life " was right when he said "youth is wasted on the young."

  1. I agree; things that get me excited seem to be oh well with others. It may be that people are so dumbed down w/media overload or our messages we receive are so extreme, people just block them out. My own sons are very passionate about different things, the oldest politics and government, the younger, sports. I may not agree but I respect both and support them to keep their passion fueled, it helps to create their identity, and pursue other interests. I feel when you lose you passion for things, you lose a part of your life, and become part of the crowd.
